Make: Press for Cake button

Press for Cake button

Inspired by all the “Press for Champagne” buttons I’ve been seeing online, I decided to make my own “Press for Cake” variation. “Press for Donut” would be a good one too. I wasn’t able to find a way to make a ringing version {available here}, but it’s still cute as is.

4″ x 6″ gold picture frame or frame you can spray paint
Gold spray paint, if needed
Press for Cake template
One sheet of card stock
Doorbell button
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Pencil, if needed

1. Spray your frame, if needed. I couldn’t find a gold frame I liked, so got this one at Winners for $8 and sprayed it {it was originally a coral colour}.

2. Print the template onto your card stock. I sized it for a 4″ x 6″ rectangular frame, so no trimming is needed if that is what you are using. As my frame is a 4″ x 6″ oval, I used the paper insert that came with the frame to trace the oval onto the template, then cut it out.

3. Pop the background into your frame.

4. Apply glue to the underside of the button and attach to your frame. A bit of the glue seeped around the sides of the button when I pressed it onto the frame, but once it dried I was able to peel it away.
