Highlights: Sweetery dessert festival

Sweetery Toronto 2016

This past weekend I attended the 2nd annual Sweetery, a dessert festival here in Toronto. Admission is free and you can purchase any of the desserts to enjoy there or take home. I wasn’t able to try everything but here were my favourites…

Sweetery Toronto 20161 | A butter tart from Andrea’s Gerrard St. Bakery. Crunchy on the top and soft on the inside, really good.
2 | Homemade marshmallows, customized with toppings from I Love Puffy Love
3 | These cute animal macarons from Daan Go
4 | A green tea soft serve cone from Matcha Tea & Dessert

My favourite part of the festival {last year as well} were the desserts made by students of George Brown College’s Advanced French Patisserie program. Their creations for the festival are part of their final evaluation in the program, so it’s nice to be able to support them. It’s also a great opportunity to sample and take home a variety of really delicious French pastries, inexpensively. This is where I spent the most time taking photos and here is some of their amazing work:
